Transcription

Luckett to Durbin
This Indenture made and entered into this 17th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between Thomas Luckett of Henderson county and state of Kentucky of the one part and E. J Durbin of Union County Ky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thos. Luckett for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth sell and convey unto the said E. J. Durbin the tract of land deeded to him by Commissioners of his fathers home tract on which he lived and died and Bounded as follows (Towit) Beginning at a 3 gums on the Bank of Casey’s Creek (now broken down running, thence South 58 East to a mulbury Oak & 2 dogwoods corner to Thos Hite’s survey & the tract a part of which was sold Benjamin Luckett by Rice 183 poles thence South 32 West 55 poles to a stake in the line of the lot laid off for the Dower thence North 58 West with the So line 86 poles to a stake corner of the Dower lot, thence South 32 West 33 poles to a stake thence North 58 West 100 poles to an elm on the bank of Casey’s Creek thence with the creek to the Beginning containing one hundred acres to the same more or less and also the whole of his Interest in the lot of his mothers dower together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto pertaining To have and to hold for ever and the said Thos Luckett doth bind himself his heirs and Administrators to warrant and defend the same unto the said E. J. Durbin against the claim or claims of all persons claiming through or under him in any way.
In Testimony any whereof the said Thos. Luckett hath been unto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date above named March 17th 1843

I James M Gilchrist Deputy clerk for James R. Hughes Clerk of the County Court for the County and commonwealth aforesaid certify that on this day this deed from Thomas Luckett to E. J. Durbin was produced to me in my office and acknowledged before me by the said Thomas Luckett to be his act and Deed and thereupon the same to settles with this certificate was duly admitted to record in my office
