- This Indenture made the ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, between Jethro Thompson of Appoquinimink Hundred, New Castle County and State of Delaware and Rebecca Ann Thompson his wife, of the one part and Miles T Jones of the Hundred, County and State aforesaid, of the other part.
- Witnesseth, That the said Jethro Thompson and Rebecca Ann, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, unto them well and truly paid by the said Miles T Jones at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed, and by these presents, DO grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Miles T Jones, his heirs and assigns. All that farm , Plantation or tract of land herein after described, situate, lying and being in the Hundred and County aforesaid, bounded and described as follows, to wit:
- Beginning at a stone by the side of the State Road leading from Cantwell's Bridge to Blackbird, near the Pine Tree, and at the mouth of a public road leading to Hopkin's Landing on Blackbird brush, thence with said road leading to said landing South forty-seven and a half degrees East seventy nine and a half perches to a corner stone, corner for land formerly of the heirs of a certain John Deakyne, but now of the heirs of Joseph Smithers, thence with the line of said Smithers, South thirty eight and a quarter degrees West niney six perches to a stone on the East side of the aforesaid State Road, thence with said State Road the several courses and distances thereof to the place of beginning, containing within said bounds, twenty four acres, and ninety five perches of land, be the same more or less, with the buildings and improvements thereon erected. Being the same tract of land which a certain Cornelius Belveal and wife by their Indenture duly executed and acknowledged and bearing date the Eighteenth day of March A.D. 1806, did grant and convey unto a certain James Lattomus, and also, the same Tract of land and promises which James Lattomus and James Carrow and Rachel his wife by Indenture duly executed and acknowledged and bearing date the Twenty Ninth day of October A.D. 1825, did grant and convey all their interest in and to the same, to the said Jethro Thompson, party to the presents of the first part: As by references to the said Indentures duly recorded in the Recorder's Office in New Castle, in and for New Castle County, the same will more fully and at large appear.
- Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements; ways, waters, water, courses, rights, liberties, priveleges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise aapertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof; and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Jethro Thompson and Rebecca Ann his wife, in law, equity, or otherwise however, of , in, and to the same and every part therein of, to have and to hold the said farm, plantation, or tract of land, hereditaments and premises hereby granted as mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said Miles T Jones, his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said Miles T Jones, his heirs and assigns forever.
- And the said Jethro Thompson for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, doth by these presents, convenant, grant and agree to and with the said Miles T Jones, his heirs and assigns, that he the said Jethro Thompson and his heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted, as mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said Miles T Jones, his heirs, and assigns, against them the said Jethro Thompson and Rebecca Ann his wife and their heirs, and against all and every other person or any part thereof, by, through or under them the said ethro Thompson and Rebecca Ann his wife or their heirs SHALL and WILL by these presents WARRANT and forever defend.
- In Witness whereof , the said Parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals. Date the day and year first above written.

- Be it remembered, that on this ninth day of October A.D. 1854, personally came before me Isaac P Walker a Notary Public for the State of Delaware , Jethro Thompson and Rebecca Ann Thompson his wife, parties to this Indenture, known to me personally to be such, and severally acknowledged this Indenture to be their deed; and the said Rebecca Ann Thompson, being at the same time, privately examined by me apart from her husband, acknowledged that she executed the said Indenture willingly, without compulsion, or threats, or fear of her husband's displeasure
