The 1870 United States Census for Claiborne Parish, Louisiana was divided into eight Wards. Unlike in previous censuses (1850 and 1860), each Ward was enumerated separately. The 1870 Census was also the first census to be held after the end of slavery, and includes thousands of African Americans who were excluded from previous censuses.

The Claiborne Parish One Place Study is currently indexing the Census and connecting the information to profiles.

The following tables serve as an index to the information, and are not a full representation. The following columns have been omitted: Dwelling number, real estate value, attended school, adulthood literacy, deaf/blind/etc.

Surnames and first names are transcribed as written in the original document, including abbreviations and misspellings. Conversely, occupations and place names are fully written and corrected when misspelled.

Individuals with a green background are connected to the Global Family Tree.
