1896 Summer Olympics

The 1896 Summer Olympics, the first international Olympic Games held in modern history, was held in Athens, Greece, from April 6th to April 15, 1896. Austria sent 3 men, and all 3 won medals.[1] No women were sent because women were prohibited from competing.[2] During this time, Austria was a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but the Austrian competitors are listed separately from the Hungarians.[3]
