General Władysław Eugeniusz Sikorski was killed on the 4th of July 1943 when the aeroplane he was travelling aboard crashed into the sea at Gibraltar.

Only a pilot, Eduard Prchal, survived.

It is difficult to determine the exact number of the dead.
