There was a large group of men who had enlisted for a term of one year in 1864 and they were mustered out on 29 Aug 1865 in New Berne, North Carolina, just a few weeks before the rest of the company was mustered out.
- The unit suffered the most casualties during the Battle of Chaffin's Farm and New Market Heights on 29 Sep 1864. During this battle, all of the officers for Company C were killed or wounded so Milton M. Holland took command of the company. - 4 killed in action: Privates Daniel Blackburn, Floyd Viney, Benjamin Watson, and Nathan Woods
- 2 died of battle wounds: Privates William Newby and Jesse Reed
