Joseph Horton was born in Hartford, England, in 1759, and immigrated to America after the start of the American revolution. He settled in Virginia and served with Virginia troops in the Revolutionary War. He had two sons and two daughters. He died at the home of his daughter, Nancy Jenkins, in Jefferson twp., Jackson County, Ohio, 11 June 1833. Descendants lived in Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado and elsewhere.

Includes the Jenkins, Davis, Stephenson, Radabough, Lyons, Willis and other allied families.
