1829 - James Crawford. Box 16, Pack 324. [This is probably his widow Mary who is found next to Robert F. Crawford on the 1830 census. She is too young to be Mary B. Foster Crawford who was probably in Pike County, GA by then. Some researchers have Mary B. married to a James Crawford also which I believe is wrong.]

James, Sr. [Note - Died 1783 – Widow Elizabeth. According to James W. Gettys, Vice Pres. And Dean of Erskine College, he has an extensive plantation five miles “below” the village of Abbeville]
John [Note – According to James W. Gettys, he was the richest man in the area at the time of the Rev. War. A Torie more than likely. Wife – Peggy. They fled to St. Mary’s in Florida after the Rev. He sent Peggy back to Abbeville to try to get his property. She was discovered by the wives of the Whigs and beaten harshly. She went back to St. Mary’s and neither was seen again.]
