Cindy and Gisèle,

I removed this from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles because it appeared there as "Census links and citations". We want to be clear that this category is a reference for members who need to find out whether a particular source is considered reliable by the appropriate project.

Cheers,

Chris

Chris, that page is a listing of all the reliable census sources for the Acadian project. It is one of our most valuable sourcing pages. Is the problem because we didn't say "Reliable" in the heading? If so, could we change it and have it added back? Or some other remedy. It seems very much like some of the other pages I looked at in that category.

Cindy

Just saw Michael's email that you might be deleting that category page altogether? That isn't what your message above says, so I'm a little unsure of whether it is staying and we would like our page to be included or if it is going away altogether . . .If your goal is (as Michael says) is to have the project check if the information is available on our own Reliable sources page, we are confident that it is available to all project members and interested researchers via the Acadian Project page.

Hi Cindy,

You should link this page from Space:Acadians_Project_Reliable_Sources or, if you prefer, create a subcategory called Acadians Project Reliable Sources and place these two pages inside it. Then the "Census links and citations" title would not be confusing.

We definitely don't want to remove this category of reliable pre-1700 sources. What we need to do is remove the confusing and duplicative Pre-1700 Resource Page from it. That page is not official, isn't carefully managed by projects, etc.

Chris

OK we will embed a link from the Reliable Sources page so this page doesn't need to be on the category page as a standalone page. Cindy
