Biography
The Adam Thoroughgood House plantation had many owners.[1] Not started by Adam as the name suggests, but started by Argall Thorowgood II.[2] It was passed through the family and by 1763 John Thorowgood I owned the property. He left the plantation to his son John Thorowgood II when he died.[3]John Thorowgood II died in 1800. He left the plantation to his son John Wainhouse Thorowgood. After the death of John Wainhouse Thorowgood in 1804 the records are unclear who the plantation went to. At some point James S. Garrison acquired it. When James S. Garrison died in 1865 he left the plantation to his son George Garrison. It is unknown if James S. Garrison actually lived on the property.[4]
