Frances Richardson (11)

Affidavit of Frances Richardson, to be used in an application for the distribution of the personal estate of Joseph Veazie, late of Providence in the state of Rhode Island, deceased.

Frances Richardson being duly sworn, deposeth and saith:

I reside in Rochester in the State of New York, am forty five years of age, and am the wife of John W Richardson. My maiden name was Frances Talcott. My mother's name was Martha Veazie, daughter of John Veazie who was born in Braintree, Mass, near Boston, went to Boston where he remained some years and afterwards removed to Adams in the state of Massachusetts, where he spent the remainder of his life. These facts in regard to my grandfather I have often heard stated by my grandmother and my mother, and they have always been received as true in our family. My grandmother's maiden name was Martha Hopkins, and after the death of my grandfather at Adams, Mass, she removed from that place and lived with my mother in Rome, N.Y. where she died. My mother's brothers & sisters were named, Mary, Samuel, Thomas, Benjamin, John, Henry and Charles. All of these died prior to the year 1863, with the exception of Uncle Charles, who is now living at Troy, N.Y.

My mother married Alpheus Talcott, and they both died prior to the year 1863.

Her children were as follows: Martha Simons, now living in Bridgeport, Conn., widow; Sarah Welch, wife of Madison Welch, of Grand Rapids, in the state of Michigan; Maria, wife of Simeon Simons, of Rossie, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y.; Charles V., Daniel and Alpheus, and myself. Of these, Charles V., Maria, Daniel and Alpheus, are dead, and all died prior to the year 1863.

Charles V. left three children, who are now living with their mother, his widow, Matilda E Talcott, in Utica, N.Y.; their names are William Charles, Delos Breands, and Anna Matilda. William Charles is the eldest and will be twenty one years of age in June of this year.

My sister Maria left a husband, Simeon Simons and the following named children, all of whom are now living: Olive Maria Drury, wife of Daniel Drury, Alpheus T., Hezekiah S., Chesly B., Benjamin W., Charles S., and Daniel D.

My brother Alpheus left but one child, a son, named Richard H. Talcott, who is now living at Little Falls, N.Y.

My brother Daniel left no issue.
