Affidavit of John V. Efner, to used on an application for the distribution of the personal estate of Joseph Veazie, late of Providence in the State of Rhode Island, dec'd intestate.
John V. Efner, being duly sworn, deposeth and saith:
I reside in Parma in the State of New York, am fifty one years of age, and am a son of Mary Veazie, daughter of John Veazie formerly of Adams in the State of Massachusetts, and who was born, as has always been understood in our family, in Braintree of that State_ My Mother was twice married - The name of her first husband was [D?]ebble by whom she had one child, Samuel by name, who after his father's decease was brought up in the family of his uncle Samuel, and took the family name of Veazie. He is living, as I am informed, in North Adams, Mass.
After the death of her first husband, Mother married Harvey Efner, my father, who now survives her. She died Sep. 15. 1858_ Her children by her second husband were as follows:
John V., of Parma, N.Y.; Harriet in Fultonham Schoharie County NY; Harvey, who died prior to 1863 without issue; Martha A. now of Chicago Ill; Marie E., of Bloomingdale, Michigan; Charles, of Parma Centre, N.Y.; Joseph, of Foreman's Ranch, Calavaras Co., California; Henry and Hiram, both of Marshall in the State of Michigan.
of these all are of age, and living, except Harvey.
My Mother's brother, Benjamin Veazie, died about the year 1844, leaving a widow, who now resides in this Town. Only one of his children, Henry by name, is now living. His daughter, Caroline, wife of Milo N. Smith, was deceased during the past year.
