Affidavit of Provost Veazie of Albany in the state of New York, to be used in an application for the distribution of the personal estate in the matter of the estate of Joseph Veazie, late of Providence in the state of Rhode Island, deceased.
Provost Veazie, being duly sworn, on oath deposes and says:
I reside in Albarny in the state of New York, and am fifty-one years of age. I am a son of Henry Veazie, late of the city of Albany who died December the Eleventh 1832, aged fifty two(?) years, and a grandson of John Veazie, formerly of North Adams in the state of Massachusetts, who died there in Feb. A. D. 1812. The names of my uncles and aunts, my Father's brothers and sisters, were as follows: Mary, wife of Harvey Efner, Martha, wife of Alpheus Tolcutt, Samuel, Thomas, Benjamin, John and Charles - of these all are deceased except Charles, who now resides in Troy in this states. The most of them, as I am informed and believe, have living descendants.
My father married Ann Staats and left children by her whose names are as follows: Cornelius, now living in the City of New York, Margaret L. wife of George Douglass of the City of Albany in the state of New York, Henry, late of the city of Albany, deceased, Edward A. and myself, both of Albany, N.Y. My brother Henry married Harriet Harnard and at his decease left one child by her whose name is Henry J(?) now living in Columbia, State of South Carolina.
My grandfather, John Veazie, as I have always been informed, was born in the vicinity of Boston, Mass, and went from there to North Adams in that state, where he lived and died.

Albany City County -- On this 28 day of September 1864 in the City & County aforesaid, before me, George Wolford, a commissioner residing in said county, duly appointed and commissioned by the Governor of the State of Rhode Island to take the acknowledgement and proof of the executor of deeds, and other instruments in writing under seal &(?) personally appeared Provost Veazie to me well known to be the person who subscribed the foregoing deposition and who being duly sworn by me made oath in --- of law that said deposition was in all aspects true.
In --- ahereof I have hereunderwritten my name and affixed my official seal as Commissioner of said state of Rhode Island at my office in the City & County of Albany, and stated aforesaid this 28th day of September 1864.
