African-American Resources for Georgia
July Through September 2023 Project
As always, previous counties will still be available to work on. You can see what has already been done, and some suggestions for work still in process, on the specific county pages. See African-American Resources for Georgia.
The focus for the Georgia State Team for July-September 2023 was the Troup family and associates who were spread across multiple counties in Georgia, including Laurens, McIntosh, Montgomery, Glynn, and Chatham.
Specific areas of focus
- Make profiles for all slave owners, and Slaves of pages if more than 10 slaves
- Identify the enslaved and make profiles for them
- Make free space pages for all plantations with at least 40 named slaves
