Introduction

Aghalee Civil Parish is a small parish near Lisburn in County Antrim. Aghalee parish has a total area of 10.3 km² or 4.0 square miles.
The B12 road from Lurgan to Crumlin crosses the parish as does the B105 which starts in Aghalee village. The disused Lagan Navigation passes through the parish.
Aghalee civil parish is in the historic barony of Massereene Upper. The Irish name is Achadh Lí which means 'field of beauty'.[1]
