In January 1850, the adult children of the late James Gray, and their spouses, drew up an agreement among themselves to transfer James' real estate to one of the siblings - Napoleon Bonaparte Gray. This was done according to arrangements James made before his death.

James Gray's heirs as identified in the document are:

The properties covered by the agreement are:

  1. Land called "Glade Hollow" in Russell County, 100 acres adjoining lands of George Pucket, Harvey Gray, and others, patented 16 Sep 1797.
  2. 80 acres conveyed by deed to James Gray on 8 August 1793 by Francis Price and wife and recorded at Russell County clerk.
  3. +/- 20 acres conveyed by deed to James Gray on 22 July 1801 by Henry Hurat and recorded at Russell County clerk.
  4. 30 acres conveyed by deed to James Gray on 2 Feb 1805 by Jesse West and recorded at Russell County clerk.

They agreed to sell the above tracts of land to Napoleon B. Gray in consideration of debts owed the estate. Almost all of the adult heirs signed the agreement. [1]
