James Green Carson (1815-1863) owned and operated Cane Brake Plantation in Adams County, Mississippi, until he moved across the Mississippi River to Airlie Plantation in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana, around 1846.

He owned The Airlie Plantation of East Carroll Parish, Louisiana around 1846 with his wife Catherine Waller Carson and family until the Civil War. The Carsons fled to Texas during the Civil War, and James Green Carson died of diphtheria in Tyler, Texas.[1]
