Alexander’s Plantation was just off the Satilla River, a place called Satilla Bluffs which is close to the border of Georgia and Florida. Which the land was really fertile along the river and also heavily forested. At one time Alexander owned 2000 acres in this area.
His main crops were Indian Corn at which in 1860 he had about 450 acres in Indian corn and 1650 acres in forest in which he did lumbering.
Alexander started acquiring Slaves back in 1830, 24 slaves, after his marriage to Elizabeth Brown. By 1860 the slaves had grown to 74. by 1870 after the war his property value was $3000 and personal estate value was $3000 as well. After his death in 1873 the estate was left to his wife Eliza. The plantation is no longer standing nor is the exact locate known.
