Item 1: "I will and devise to my loving wife Eliza J Scott all my property, both real and (?), for any and during her natural life, with full authority and property to dispose of any part, or the whole thereof , as she in her judgement shall deem best for the interest of my estate."

Item 2: "It is my will and desire at the death of said wife (Eliza J), that all my property, (?) any of my stock of cattle shall be equally divided by my three children Thomas E Scott, Alexander C Scott and Julia A Scott, wife of John L.A. Holzendorf. Share and share a like. Should anyone or more of my said child should depart this life, before they shall have (?) into possession aft the portion to which they are hear by entitled, then the children of the said deceased shall inherit and take into their place and stead."

Item 3: I wil and devise to my son Alexander C. Scott twenty head of stock cattle, say ten cows with their calves , in live of twenty head already given to my son Thomas E. Scott and twenty already given to my daughter Julia A. Scott; and after said twenty head shall be set apart to my son Alexander C. Scott, the remainder of any stock cattle to be equally divided between my said two sons Thomas E. Scott and Alexander C Scott"

Item 4: "I hereby appoint my beloved wife (Eliza J. Scott) Executrix, and my said two sons Thomas E. Scott and Alexander C. Scott for execution of this my last will and testament."
