No. 52 - 1895 April 3 - Alexandria Times

Grant -

  1. P1. Mrs. Mason died at her home near Smithville and was brought here and burried Satruday. Just two weeks ago one of her children was burried at the same place.

White House -

  1. P4 Mrs. Barnes of White House, was burried at the Grove meeting house burying rounds last week.
  2. P4 Mr. John Underwood of Nashville, was burried the same day in the family graveyard near White House.

New Middleton

  1. P4 - The remains of Miss Juliet Bridges who died in Nashville arrived at 3 o'clock Saturday, was met at the depot by a large crowd of friends and and brought to her father Mr. J.G. Bridges,. She was buried yesterday at 11 o'clock funeral at 10 by Revs. Kuntz and Carlock. THe family has the sympathy of their many friends.

  1. P5 - Rev. Geo L. Beale preached the funeral of Mrs. Murray at Mahone Sunday morning and preached at the M.E. Church South here Sunday night.

  1. P1 - Mrs. Mary Chumney was buried at Bones' Campground a few days ago. She has been sick about eight months.

  1. P1 Met Oakley died at his home on Smith Fork last Sunday.
  2. P1 Also the wife of Dempse Taylor and;
  3. P1 E.C. Bratten

Death of a former resident of DeKalb Co.

  1. P1 Jo. B West, son of G.R. West died at his home at Pelham, Grundy County at 2 o'clock on March 30th. He leaves a wife and four children.

A Play That ended in Death

  1. P1. Commerece, April 8- On Monday April 1st Willie, the 8 year old son of Mrs. Ida Corsey died from a fracture of the skull caused by striking his head against the fence while at play.
The accident occured Friday before and was not thought to be serious. The boy complained with his head from the time the accident occurred and gradually grew worse with the above result.
