.......The Alfred arrived yesterday from Liverpool after a splendid and very agreeable passage of 89 days, having made the run from the Cape of Good Hope to this port in 27 days. No vessels have been spoken on the passage. She brings 451 Governments Immi- grants, all of whom are in very good health. They are classified as follows:- 14 married couples, 146 single men, 121 single women, 77 children, and 19 infants. Two births and five deaths have occurred on the passage.

Roman Catholic Labourer aged 19 from Kilkernny arrived Port Jackson on this ship (Alfred) in 6 January 1860, His sister Catherine aged 14 or 18 died on the voyage (total 5 deaths). Ships Surgeon F W Johnson. Ships Master Captain Cassey. 89-90 day voyage. No other relatives with same surname listed.
