Lagoa

The beautiful rock outcrops of Praia da Marinha in the municipality of Lagoa.

Parishes

Lagoa is presently composed by four parishes. All of them were part of the municipality of Silves until 1773. The list below contains some useful genealogical information. The patron saint is also included as paroquial records sometimes use it as a synonym for the parish's name.

	Estômbar	São Tiago	Records range from 1665 to 1905.[1]
	Ferragudo	Nossa Senhora da Conceição	Records range from 1749 to 1905.[2] In 1997 a new parish was Ferragudo out of Lagoa called Parchal, before being made exctinct in 2013.
	Lagoa	Nossa Senhora da Luz	Records range from 1591 to 1905.[3] In 1985 a new parish was created out of Lagoa called Carvoeiro, before being made exctinct in 2013.
	Porches	Nossa Senhora da Encarnação	Records range from 1618 to 1905.[4]
