Monchique

The hilly town of Monchique, settled since Roman times.

Monchique is presently composed by three parishes. All of them were part of the municipality of Silves until 1773. The list below contains some useful genealogical information. The patron saint is also included as paroquial records sometimes use it as a synonym for the parish's name.
