We were never sure how old Alice was. We adopted her almost 11 years ago and she was a full grown dog. Alice was a sweetheart, a real princess, a one of a kind girl.

She was rescued from an extremely abusive situation and we were lucky enough to bring her home and make her family.

Her favorite place to be was on the couch. She had her own spot in which she wore out the cushions. She was happy to snooze all day and eat "cookies" (just milk bones, but we called them her cookies).

In the years that she spent with us, we earned her trust and love and gave it to her in return. She was probably the most spoiled dog in the world. Everywhere she went, everyone just dawned over her. She was extra sweet and loved to give kisses. She was allowed on all the couches she wanted.

When we brought her home we were worried that she wouldn't get along with our 2 cats, but we shouldn't have been. They loved her so much. She was really good with not just our cats, but all of our family member's cats as well.

She loved going on hikes, whether in the city or up in the mountains. Just bring some snacks and she was ready to go. One year we took her out to the Great Sand Dunes and she was in love. The next 3 times we brought her there, she always remembered it and was happy as could be.

Alice succumbed to Cushing's Disease at the end of May. While it's hard to lose my beloved girl, I know she's running and jumping across the Rainbow Bridge with Merlyn and Kyo.

I love you Alice dog.
