Biography

The Antioch Plantation, also known as The White House Plantation, was located about 7 1/2 miles from Dayton, Marengo Co, AL. It contained some 1600 acres lying in sections 3-8, and 17-20 of township 15, range 4 east. The Antioch Plantation had all varieties of land, Black, Swamp land, Sandy Land, and Post Oak. This plantation had also been home to John D. Catlin, father-in-law of Adolphus S. Cade, as well. John D. Catlin resided on it until his death in 1857, and most likely why it was then sold.[4] In his will, John D. Catlin wished that this plantation go to his granddaughter Adolpha Cade.[5] The enslaved of both Adolphus S. Cade, and John D. Catlin are seen here.
