June 2024 Challenge: Celebrating Appalachian Dads and GrandDads
- It's Father's Day this month in the US and in Appalachia! Did you know that the Father of Appalachia is Cratis Williams? Williams fought the mispronunciation of the name: Appalachia. (Correct is App uh LATCH uh). Williams stated that for the Commisioner of ARC to maintain credibility among mountaineers whom the commission was created to help, he must first "to learn how to pronounce Appalachia and Appalachian."
- This month's goal is not a quick one or one that is easily tracked with the challenge tracker: Improve on the Appalachian Dad's and GrandDad's Profiles on WT. This includes biography, categories, sources, gedcom junk, low CC7, adding profiles to theirs. Anything that can make their profiles beautiful.
- Go straight up your paternal lines to work every Dad and GrandDad ancestor.

- Share a special moment or memory you have of the Dads and GrandDads in your life, in the memory section.
- Add photos. If there is a photo on the internet, ask if you can use it on WT.
- Tell us who they were! We all have stories to tell of our own Dads and GrandDads and even some great GrandDads!
- Provide details where they grew up (Hint: use Wikipedia for location details)
- Add Categories for where they lived, their occupation and hobbies
