- This John Murdoch is probably the same John who was married to Ann Bruce and whose father 'Old Murdoch' was running the Bellow Mill at this time. . It is probable that this John had moved from the Bridgend Mill to the Bellow Mill after his father died about 1750's. John had returned (from his military service) back to the family region of Auchinleck Parish about 1750. His father was likely still occupying Bellow Mill in the 1750's so John possibly settled initially at the Bridgend Mill on his return.
