The barque Aurora made Numerous Voyages to the Australian Colonies in the 19th Centrury
The barque Aurora of 536 tons was built at Sunderland in England in 1843.
This Aurora brought out British immigrants to the Australian Colonies and should not be confused with the slightly smaller barque of the same name which carried exclusively German emigrants to the South Australian colony at about the same time. Category: Aurora (1850)
It is worth noting that as many as 5 other ships of this name of various sizes and type/ sail rigging made voyages to the Australian colonies in the 19th and early 20th century. So care should be taken when selecting this category.
