Purpose

A space for sharing research on potential profiles for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) category.

This will be used for deceased persons with a connection to the BBC, who do not have a profile, and lack sufficient information to build and connect a profile.

Please do not add any research relating to living people, including living people connected to the subject profile.

This subcategory page has a lot of BBC shows which might provide inspiration on other people to research.

For now I am just making one big list, I may revisit the format if it gets crowded.

Appears to have a genealogy on Ancestry.com (at least one of his cousins is a contributor to that site). I don't have access, please someone who does step in. I can't find any names for his parents elsewhere, just that his father was a bric-a-brac salesman on Blackpool Beach.

Youtube (Have You Seen My Chickens
Actor (It's That Man Again - radio)
Dead end with parents John Handley and Sarah Ann Pearson - names too generic to hunt down.
Dead end with wife, Jean Allistone even though her mother was a Mackerness and those are distinctive easily traceable names, but I can't find any family members further back than her parents, and no marriages for her siblings.
Dead end with wife's first husband, William Henshall. Father was immigrant from Germany, mother Virginia Lenkowski looks like 2nd generation immigrant and siblings seem to have died unmarried. Actually mother has 6 siblings who may give us something...

Hugh Lewis Lloyd MBE 22 April 1923 – 14 July 2008

Wikipedia
Actor (Hugh and I, Hancock's Half Hour)
Born in Chester to a travelling tobacco salesman and a pianist. I think they are Robert L (Lewis?) Lloyd 1882 and Annie Margaret Jones 1887 but it would be helpful if someone could FindMyPast their 1939 register entry and confirm a) Hugh is with them and b) Robert's occupation/birth years etc. I already ruled out another Lloyd/Jones family in nearby Hoole.
He had 5 wives which may be another angle. 1) Anne Rodgers/Rogers aka Neridah Alesia Jones; 2) Jose (Josephine?) Stewart; 3) Mavis Grigg aka Polley, uncertain which if either is maiden name; 4) Caroline Giles; 5) Shan Davies (1953-2008, parents Jack Davies and Margaret Wilson in London, very generic names.

Michael Sheard aka Michael Lawson Perkins 18 June 1938 – 31 August 2005

Wikipedia
Actor (Grange Hill, Star Wars)
Son of Aberdeen minister Donald Marriot Perkins, who remarried in 1955 Helga Pfretzschner, a refugee from Germany. His half-brother is John Hilmar Perkins. I can't find any record of Donald's first marriage or Michael's mother, his Scotlandspeople birth record doesn't mention a mother's maiden name.
Donald appears to have been born in Saffron Waldon 1903 and died in Devon 1992. Helga appears to have died in Yorkshire in 1980 (unless there's another Helga Perkins).
Wife may be a lead (uncertain if living). Maiden name Moir, daughter of a Mazur - unusual combo. Bruce Kinnaird Moir 1902-58 married Cecily C Mazur in 1933 in Paddington. Bruce is in Plymouth in 1911. The two overlaps with Bruce in 1911 and 1921 are John Drew Moir 1862-1928 and Sarah Jane Constance Pretender Moir 1870. And here's their marriage notice!
I've found them on Familysearch and a connection to an existing Wikitree profile, and built Wikitree profiles up to Bruce K Moir - Michael's father-in-law.
