This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about the surname BRYANT and its variants. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect. Please contact the project leader, add categories to your profiles, add your questions to the bulletin board, add details of your name research, etc.

The surname seems to be of either Breton, or Welsh origin, though there may be confusion with the O'Brien clan of Ireland. As with all genealogy, one needs to exercise caution. Variants include Bryan, Brian, Briant: there is another Wikitree One Name study for Bryan.

I did not see a join project to click on??? My Bryant line starts with my great-grandmother Anna Bryant-9769, out of KY. When I was working on my tree on Ancestry for her line, I ended up using different colored B Pic's to try and sort them all out. They tended to use the same 1st names a lot, and they had big families in KY. I ran across records with Bryant, Briant spellings. So if anyone is looking for Bryant's in KY, I might have them in my tree on Ancestry, Sheila Akins & Wallace Thomas FT, slt13721. I do have DNA for myself and family on Ancestry, GEDmatch, ftdna.

Sheila I too have Stephens and Neals in my family that married Bryants. I am also on Ancestry. Many Bryants are from Kentucky. There is a special group on Spokt that is for Bryants sharing information. Do you know about them? It is good to see there is some work beginning on Bryants on here., even if they are not all immediate family to me.
I’m searching for Jane M Bryant she married Henry Haskell. She was born in PA in 1820

May be of interest to you if you've found your way here.
