According to Mayes: The old church was constructed around 1622; with the earliest known burial being William McGown 1626-1696. It was replaced by St. Patrick's Church of Ireland, across the road, in September 1868 and left to fall into disrepair. The graveyard contains both Protestant and Catholic burials.
