Introduction

Ballywillin Civil Parish is a coastal area partly in County Antrim and partly in County Londonderry and includes the town of Portrush. Ballywillin parish has an area of 19.2 km² or 7.4 square miles.


The A2 coast road and the A29 from Coleraine to Portrush pass through the parish. The B17 from Coleraine to Bushmills crosses the south of the parish.


Ballywillin Civil Parish spans the historic baronies of Dunluce Lower in County Antrim and N.E. Liberties of Coleraine in County Londonderry. The Irish name is Baile an Mhuilinn meaning 'townland of the mill'.

Grifiths Valuation.:Portrush is a small seaside resort town on the north coast of County Antrim. The main part of the old town is built on a mile–long peninsula, Ramore Head. It had a population of 6,454 people at the 2011 Census.[1] Portrush town includes parts of Portrush, Ballywillin, Cloughorr, Glenmanus, and Meadow Parks townlands in County Antrim, Corrstown and Magheramenagh townlands in both County Antrim and County Londonderry, and Ballyreagh and Loguestown townlands in County Londonderry.[2] Use Category:Portrush,_County_Antrim for people from Portrush Town. |}
