Bartlett Name Study Project

Welcome to the Bartlett Name Study, which is a part of the greater WikiTree One Name Studies Project.
The Goals of this study are to:
  • Gather everything about the surname Bartlett and its variants into one place which will provide an indexed resource for those researching the family lines.
  • Compare and Merge duplicated profiles and identifying the reasons why (i.e.: Spelling variations, etc) the duplicate was created.
  • Resolve family line issues caused by incorrect sources
  • Connect all WikiTree profiles with the surname of Bartlett or one of its variants to the worldwide tree
  • Add Sources to all profiles that are currently unsourced or improperly sourced
  • Cleanup of biographies, writing clean narratives, and eliminating GEDCOM clutter. Please put in the biographies the main profile that did upload the GEDCOM. They have the right to be recognized for their hard work prior to us adding or taking information.
  • Share stories, pictures, etc to enrich our common ancestry and to get to know each other
The main hope for this study is that this will help in all of us connecting and learning about our ancestry and each other. To make it easier to find the resources that we need to be able to move further.

DNA Resources

DNA testing can improve the accuracy of the genealogical research results in some cases. To get started, first check out DNA Testing For Genealogy 101. How DNA test results can be useful on WikiTree is reviewed at WikiTree And DNA. A full list of resources for available testing and interpreting the results is available on the WikiTree DNA Project Page. WikiTree DNA features are reviewed and explained at WikiTree DNA Features
Please also check with the Bartlett Research Links for information regarding DNA websites linked to the Bartlett surname or variants.

As you are researching, you may discover sources that the project may not have. You are always welcome to add those sources along with the ones listed as it may help others in their research of the lines. Please put the sources under the resource category.

Source and Style Guidelines

Please remember that while genealogy is a serious matter, that everyone should have fun with it and not stress. Things happen all the time and like those things, things that go wrong on WikiTree can be fixed. Except if you are a smurf... There is no helping you... You will still be blue and incredibly tiny. There are people on WikiTree that will help and guide as we go through this journey together. Keep the Faith.
