In the Name of God Amen
I Sarah Beardsley of Wirksworth in the County of Derby Widow, being Weak in Body but of Sound and Disposing Mind and Understanding (Praised be God), Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I Give Devise and bequeath All that my Messuage or Dwelling House Standing in the Nether Street in Wirksworth aforesaid known by the Sign of the Angel and now or late in the possession of Elizabeth Gell Widow with all the Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the same belonging which I have lately purchased of Mrs Mary Leake (the same being Copyhold and surrendered to the uses in my will) Also all my Moneys Securitys for Money Goods Cattle and Chattles and all other my real and Personal Estates whatsoever unto my Son Joseph Beardsley his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever He or they paying thereout all my Just Debts Funeral Expences and Legacys And I do hereby Charge my said Dwelling House and all other my real and Personal Estates with the payment thereof
And also upon this further Trust and Confidence That he my said Son Joseph Beardsley his Heirs Executors or Administrators shall and do Maintain and Educate such of my Children who at the time of my Decease shall not be able to Maintain themselves
Also I Give and bequeath to my other six children the several Legacys or Sums of Money hereafter mentioned (that is to say)
To my Son John Beardsley One Pound (He having been before provided for)
To my Daughter Sarah Taylor Five Pounds
To my Daughter Hannah Beardsley Twenty Pounds
To my Daughter Ann Beardsley Fifteen Pounds
To my Son William Beardsley Ten Pounds
and To my Son Isaac Beardsley Ten Pounds
And which I will shall be paid within Twelve Months next after my Decease to such of my said Children who shall then be of the age of Twenty One Years
And to such of them who shall then be under age when He, She or they shall arive at the age of Twenty One Years And my Will and Mind is and I do hereby Order and Direct that my said Children shall be paid and Allowed Interest for their said respective Legacys after the rate of Four Pounds per Centum per Annum from the time of my Death towards their Respective Maintenance and Education
But in Case any of my said Children who are now under the age of Twenty One Years shall happen to Dye before his her or their said Legacy or Legacys shall become payable Then my will is that the Legacy or Legacys of such of them so Dying shall be paid unto and Equally amongst the survivors of all my said seven Children at such time as the same would have been due and payable to any of them so dying
And Lastly I Constitute and Appoint my said Son Joseph Beardsley Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Fourth day of May in the Third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Third And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and sixty three
