Surnames/tags: garrigues lee Whereas Benjamin Garrigues of Kingsessing in the County of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, Son of Edward Garrigues of the same place and Margaret his wife, deceased, and Anna Lee Daughter of Amos Lee of Oley in the county of Berks, and State aforesaid, and Sarah his wife, having declared their Intentions of marriage with each other before a Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends held at Exeter in the County of Berks aforesaid according to the good order used amongst them and having consent of the surviving parents their proposals of marriage was allowed of by the said Meeting.

Now These are to Certify whom it may concern, that for the full accomplishment their said Intentions this second day of the fifth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen: they, the said Benjamin Garrigues and Anna Lee appeared in a public meeting of the said people held at their Meeting House at Exeter aforesaid and the said Benjamin Garrigues taking the said Anna Lee by the hand did on this solemn occasion openly declare that he took her, the said Anna Lee to be his wife promising with Divine assistance to be unto her a loving and faithful husband until death should seperate them, and then, in the same Assembly the said Anna Lee did, in like manner declare that she took him the saidBenjamin Garrigues to be her husband, promising with divine assistance to be unto him a loving and faithful wife untill death should seperate them: And moreover they the said Benjamin Garrigues and Anna Lee she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof, did, then and there, to these presents, set their hands
