The 460 - 507 ton barque Bermondsey under master W. BEERLING (Captain Beerligh) and surgeon superintendent R N Lowe sailed from London on 3 May 1856 with 208 immigrants. They arrived Sydney, New South Wales 21st August 1856.

The Bermondsey, which arrived from Plymouth yesterday, has been placed in quarantine by the Health Officer, two deaths having occurred during the voyage.
