Introduction

Billy Civil Parish in North Antrim covers a rural area north of Ballymoney and east of Portrush including the Giant's Causeway World Heritage Site. Billy parish has an area of 68.5 km² or 26.4 square miles. The Bush river defines the western boundary of the parish. The Devock river (also called Labach, Blackwater, Stracam) defines the eastern boundary of the parish. In addition to Bushmills and Mossside there are several small hamlets in the parish including Castlecat, Liscolman, Lisnagunogue.
The A2 coast road passes through from Bushmills towards Ballycastle. Several other roads pass through the parish including the B17 from Bushmills towards Ballycastle, the B66 from Bushmills towards Dervock, B67 from Coleraine to Ballycastle which passes through Moss-Side, and B146 past Giant's Causeway.
Billy Civil Parish is in the historic baronies of Cary and Dunluce Lower.
