John Joyce who arrived in The Swan River Colony aged 16 with his sister Betsy aged 13 on 22 March 1843 aboard the emigrant ship “Success” from Ireland were pioneer settlers in Bindi Bindi, Western Australia. They had departed London on 27 November 1842 under the guidance of the ship’s master Sampson Keen. No ports were visited on the 115 day journey. 67 male and 64 female passengers landed in the Swan River Colony on on 22 March 1843 and 8 deaths were recorded on the journey as well as 4 births.
