DEATH of MR S H DEACON of CHURCH BRAMPTON.
One of the oldest and best known farmers of the county , by the death, on Friday night, of Mr, Stephen Higgins Deacon,of Church Brampton. Deceased was known by a large circle of friends both in town and county reached his 80th about a month ago and his death occurred through general decay.
Mr Deacon was one of the Althorpe Corps of the Northamptonshire Volunteers on its formation in 1859 and resigned in 188? He however attended the annual prize distributions and dinners up to a few years ago, and was always heartily welcomed.
He was a member of the Brixworth Board of Guardians for about 30 years, and also occupied a seat on the Brixworth Highway Board for a long period. The deceaded gentleman was a well known agriculturalist and was one of the oldest tenants of Earl Spencer.
Deceased leaves one son, Mr Richard Deacon who succeeds him and one daughter who married Mr Frank Elliot son of the late Mr John Elliot of Little Brington.
The funeral took place at Carey Chapel, Moulton on Wednesday afternoon. (Feb 15th?).
