This institution was known by several names, including Hollidaysburg State Hospital,[1] Hollidaysburg State Hospital for the Insane and Blair County Hospital for Mental Diseases.
According to Historic Hollidaysburg, Inc,. "The first County Home was constructed on that site in 1850 to house poor, orphans and mentally ill residents of the area. In 1890s the original building was destroyed by fire and replaced."[2]
The property was later turned into a Veterans' Home.

Mabel Davis (1890-1924) Died in hospital of paresis and mania exhaustion, aged 33.
George Mullen (1850-1918) Died in hospital of lobar pneumonia, aged 71.
