History/Timeline
The county was formed in 1798 from a portion of Campbell County. It was named after Daniel Boone (1734-1820).
Government Offices
- The first courthouse was a log structure erected in 1801 in Wilmington.
- The second courthouse was a two story brick structure built in 1817 in Burlington.
- The third and present courthouse was built in 1888 and was renovated in 1959.
- The County Justice Center was constructed in 2001 to 2003.

Boone County is a county located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. Its county seat is Burlington.
