About the Project

The Booth Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Booth name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Booth name, like John Wilkes Booth

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Booths), by time period (18th Century Booths), or by topic (Booth DNA, Booth Occupations, Booth Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Also see the related surnames and surname variants.

Hi Bree,

We will be kicking off a revamped One Name Studies and each study will have a "main" page, then teams can spin off and do their own families or whatever they wish so that people don't step on each other's toes. I added the new main page template here. Would you like to coordinate this study?

I rather pass team management on to another. I just set it up trying to break a brickwall.

PS: I can set up a sub-space page for England, since this one is for ALL relatives surnamed Booth. There are plenty in WikiTree search that are on mainland Europe.

YES, this is the beauty of our new way. There is a main page for all interested members, then each person can do their "part" of the name or the variant, or whatever they want to focus on. So, you can do something like "Booth Family of England" (or whatever you choose for a title), create that space page, then add it in the "Team" list on this page. For example, see:https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Ambrose_Name_Study&public=1 the main page for Ambrose. Now, here is a team page:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Ambrose_Families_of_County_Cork. I see you have spun off your own team at this point, so I added it to the list. You should still use the same name study categories as anyone else who joins the study.

If you don't want to coordinate the entire name study, just add [email address removed] as the manager of THIS page, please.

Shoot me a private message anytime with questions. Thanks, Bree.  :-)
