Plantation History

Bourbon Plantation was developed by Nathan Atkinson (1758-1817) in the 1790s. The plantation was in the upper northern part of Camden County, Georgia. It was east of Wayside Plantation and Old Post Road, and south of Homeward Plantation.

Nathan sold the planation to his father and stepmother, John Atkinson and Catherine Ferrell Atkinson around 1800.

The plantation no longer exists except for a depression from a well and an old road which runs between Wayside Plantation and Middleton Neck Plantation, both owned by Burwell Atkinson and his wife, Ann.[1]
