About the Project
The BOY Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the BOY name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the BOY name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies and research pages will be formed and can be used to focus research on certain topics or areas of interest. Potential Teams could focus on particular family groups, geographic areas, time frame, migration patterns, occupations, DNA or statistics. These studies may focus on a particular family or may include a number of family branches which have no immediate link to one another. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

- Emily (Boy) Holmberg - I am interested in the family of Jacob Boy. I am hoping to follow his descendants as they either stay in East Tennessee or migrate across the United States. I want to identify his family in Pennsylvania and their origins in Germany. I am also interested in finding if there is a connection with Jeremiah Boyd prior to the marriage of Jacob's granddaughter to Jeremiah's son.
