This morning the Premier was interviewed by representatives of all the local bodies. Mr. Walter, R.M., in the absence of the member for the district, introduced a deputation consisting of Mr. H. Doust (chairman of the Nelson Roads Board), Mr. G. W. Hester (Nelson Agricultural Society), Mr. J. W. Blechynden (Local Board of Health), Mr. P. J. Ladden (secretary of the Roads Board), and Mr. J. Smith Scott. A request was made for a grant of £150 to construct a bridge over the Blackwood River, in Hampton-street. The present structure had done service for 25 years
