The barque British Empire sailed from London (18 April) and Plymouth (30 April); arriving in Port Adelaide on 14 August 1850. The Ships List, submitted by Robert Janmaat

The ships Master was Captain James McEwen and the Surgeon-superintendent was Dr. Richard Colthurst carrying 243 Government Emigrants in steerage
