Information: Brown Family Cemetery is located in Culpeper County in the area of Lignum. Surrounded by nature, original land owner Dorsey Gibson Brown (1906-1976) knew he wanted to be “buried on the hill”. His family upheld his wishes and that was the beginning of the Brown Family Cemetery. Since Dorsey’s burial in 1976, the cemetery, while quaint, has grown to include close family friends whom did not necessarily share the surname Brown. To date the cemetery has 17 graves, although not all of them are currently marked.

Visiting: Please note that this cemetery is on private land. Before visiting please request an appointment by contacting the caretaker, Becca (Brown) Cutsail. The Brown Family Cemetery is still in use, so be aware that funerals may be taking place.
