The Bruce family has it's Origins in Normandy France and the original ancestor of the Bruce family in Scotland was the second son of Robert de Bruges.
Sources disagree on the name of this son, be it Adelm, Adam, Allan or Robert, but most agree that he was the second son.
This second son came to England with William the Conqueror in 1066.

I would like to join this project as my great great grandmother was Xantippia Bruce, daughter of Barnett Bruce 1779-1863, son of Benjamin Bruce 1750-1809, son of George G Bruce 1713-1787. I would like to learn more about this line as my research has hit a block with George G.

I would like to join this Project. My Mother's Maiden name is Bruce ( Bruce-12019) and according to Wikitree, I'm 19th great-grandson of Robert Bruce. (lol) Both sides of my family came from Scotland and I would certainly enjoy being part of this, my family. :)
