In The Name of God Amen

I Thomas Brunt of Flash-bottom in the Township of Quarnford in the Parish of Alstonfield in the County of Stafford Yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and understanding, Thanks be to God for the same, Do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following

First I will that all my Just debts funeral expences and Probate of this will be paid out of my stock and my body likewise to be buried at the discretion of Dinah Wood and Thomas my servants.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in Law Martha Brunt ten shillings

I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Brunt one Bond value twenty pounds now due from William Brunt imediately at my decease

Likewise I give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Martha Taylor one bond value twenty pounds due from John Goodwin imediately at my decease

I give and bequeath unto my son Isaac Brunt the sum of ten shillings

I give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Sarah Millner ten shillings

I give and bequeath one pew or seat in Quarnford Chapel equally share and share alike between my son Joseph Brunt and Thomas Wood

Likewise I give and bequeath unto my son Isaac Brunt two seats or sittings in the gallery or Loft in Quarnford Chapel aforesaid

All the remains residue money Stock Chattles Cattles Houshould goods furniture debts dues and demands what or wherever to be found I give unto my Servants Dinah Wood and Thomas Wood to be divided the said Dinah Wood to have two peneys for Shares and the said Thomas Wood to have one

It is my farther Will and desire (By and with the consent of My Landlord Sir Henry Harpur or his agents) That my son Joseph Brunt should have the possession of the old farm and Tennement at Flash-bottom Subject to all rents Tythes and Taxes whatever.

And it is farther my farther will and desire that the said Dinah Wood shall have and enjoy one House now in the Possession of the said Joseph Brunt during hir natural life and at hir decease it is my desire that my Grandaughter Dinah Brunt should have the said house

Likewise I Nominate and appoint my son Joseph Brunt and Thomas Wood to be executors of this my last will and Testament revoking all former Will or Wills or bequests. And ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and Testament

In Wittness whereof I have put my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of November 1777

At Lichfield 16th January 1778

Let a Probat of this Will be granted to Thomas Wood, one of the Executors named therein, Reserving a power for Joseph Brunt, the other Executor, to accept the like authority

The said Thomas Wood having been duly sworn before me, Thos White Surr.
