Vance Genealogy start Patrick Carol Cantrell (View posts) Posted: 28 Jan 2000 01:10PM I am looking for my Family line: Patrick Married ???McCrary and had sons Patrick JR, Robert Willima ++ William married to Rebecca Hinton their son Robert married Lucenda Trussell and they had son William who married Rebecca Jane or Mary Jane Steele.... I can find no information on Miss Steele and her family...can anyone help....name shows up on what information I have of Robert and son William her husband both as Rebecca Jane or Mary Jane so not sure of her name....some say she was born in Kentucky but where......she married in Jennings Co IN...in 1859 was born 1836 .HELP!!!!!!!!

I have his son WIlliam marrying Rebecca Hinton (daughter of James), and Wm. having a son named patirick in 1796. I also have the 2nd Patrick having a son named James B Vance. Any further info on this? I'll keep looking for yours! Thanks for any assistance! Angie

WVA area which at that time was Frederick Co., VA. They settled in Turkeyfoot, Scott Co., KY and Fayette and Grant counties. Mainly Scott County. I am a descendant of Robert and Lucinda as well. They were living in Jennings county, before 1860 and are buried in the TeaCreek Baptist church. If you are a descendant Robert and Rebecca Steel they left Indiana and were living in Iowa for sometime and then moved on. I have some info on this family and would be willing to share. Please contact me at your convenience.

Robert is in Turkeyfoot, Scott County, KY in 1880 with his wife Theresa Moran (daughter of Francis and Mary Moran of Georgetown KY) and daughter Kate. I have not been able to find this Robert in any census in 1860 or 1870. Any help is welcome. Tim Vance

I am a descendant of Margaret Vance and Joseph Gregory, Margaret later married A. Horton Carpenter. There was only one child by Margaret and Joseph and that was my gr gr grandfather Robert Archibald Gregory.

I am a descendant through Robert and Lucinda, their son Granville Charlton and Harriett Gibson, Robert Daniel Vance and Fern Cofer, my father Robert Louis Vance and Grace Jane Garner and/or Sally Ann Garner. My mother was adopted and has two names.

Anyway, I grew up in Louisville, KY and now live in Richmond, VA. I have visited Jennings Co., IN twice for research. I would rather us talk on the phone. I do not have much more info to give you on your lines. I think I copied from website where you posted that she was remarried.
